When It's Said and Done

Thick charcoal blanket covers planet earth
and bombs once falling screech to silent stop
poor starving children battle harvest dearth
now scream for porridge from the mountain top
grey powdered ashes dotting turquoise globe
while whole world vanish hit by missile probe

Black satin curtains strangle sapphire sphere
the towns were burning bathed in amber light
man pushing button sending message clear
seen streams of rockets speed through ebon night
short traveled distance leaving millions dead
while deep cool rivers flowed with crimson red

Large empty craters furnish graveyard plots
this dirt for tossing hides some friendly face
last city structures twisted tangled knots
blue orb swift finish drifts in outer space
wee verdant pieces spewing broken rocks
while white bones struggle crammed in wooden box.
