Kisumu, My ancestries

Fetched into being by the meticulous trawl locators
And the skilled endeavors of the venders,
Kisumo, convoluting a good shoreline of the cloistered,
crisp liquids of Lake Victoria on its left bicep,
with the Winam Gulf at its southern shores,
neighboring its equally-intelligent Siaya brothers,
on the west-most wing,
Northing Vihiga and the greenish Kericho.
As you maneuver through the perfectly affiliated,
impermeable towers of strength at Nyakach,
you will be dearly welcomed by our vigilant brother,
who forged its presence from the altruistic,
perfect overflow of fish-filled fresh waters into its skin,
Homabay, to the south west,
and the extraneous dialect speaking,
banana-enthusiast nephews at Nyamira.

You’ll be sandwiched amid the soldierly contours of Maseno
resting their most furious sword on the fresh waters of Nam Ataro
And the linguist, but local software observant denizens of Seme
Take a selfie at the autonomously arrayed elusiveness of Kit Mikayi.
On your other flank slouches the carpeted Kano plains,
washing its feet on the banks of Nam Ataro.
Eternally creeping through the carpeted plains of kano,
the majestic, unnavigable, voluminous, almost crystal-clear River Nyando
referencing its sources uphills, through the sugarcane manors at Miwani, Chemelil and Muhoroni,
selflessly sharing its voluminous quantity with the splendid irrigation treacheries of Ahero,
While unambiguously sending just enough quantity to the schemes at Kabonyo,
depositing its fertile silt generously all across the downs of Kano,
Before retiring with its elder brother Sondu-Miriu to the enormous fresh water.
Then to God-mesa, the pure mahogany-table-like viewpoint at Nyabondo,
Routinely providing a panoramic view of the downhill kano plains,
And the prodigious Lake Victoria at a distance.

Ascending from the shoreline of Lake Victoria, an interface of the Kano plains,
And the pebbly Kajulu and Riat hills,
An amateur City of intelligence, the Capital of the West,
Pausing for a quotidian selfie with the lake at sunset,
To boastfully recap Earth of its most celebrated blessing,
Outweighed by the contemporary Luo parlance,
Not deny other ethnicities a glimpse of its wow.
With an ample stuffing for reserved or civic jets,
You can grant forces of gravity a break at the multi-domain international airport,
take a cab up and down the asphalt,
You’ll interact with the world’s most united individuals at Kondele,
before heading to the classy estates of Migosi,
to a peaceful suburban end on the hilltop.
Enjoy a taxi ride through Nyalenda,
Before itinerating to the quiet, posh estate in Milimani,
take an hour at the museum to review the local culture,
And head back to the city central for an added experience at the city hall,
Stop for an intelligence-boosting fried Mbuta aided with ugali at Dunga beach,
Enjoy the lake view, and head for a nobler expedition at the inselbergs in Kisian Area.
And at the evening, join the city for a quick selfie with the lake at sunset,
And head right for an earnest Ohangla concert at your idyllic club,
Spiced with Nyama Choma and a sip of your favorite brand of beer.
Enjoy a peaceful night at your optimum five-star hotel.

Unmistakably for me and similarly to those who proudly share the same origin
as well as culture and social empathy with our cherished county,
there is no habitation on earth that I owe much appreciation than my mother land – Kisumu county, Kenya.
